The Triumph 2000 / 2500 / 2·5 Register (“the Register”) is a classic car club dedicated to the preservation, ownership and enjoyment of the Triumph six-cylinder saloon and estate cars produced between 1963 and 1977.
The Register is run for the benefit of its members by the Triumph 2000 Register Limited.
This brief summary of the club rules is based on the Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association of the above Limited Company, to which you should refer in case of any doubt. Both documents are available on our website and from Companies House.
The Register was set up to:
a. further the appreciation and preservation of the Triumph 2000/2500/2·5 range of cars
b. provide members with information, advice and assistance on matters connected with motoring
c. afford members such benefits and privileges as it may be possible to arrange
d. arrange tours, lectures, discussions, social and other meetings
e. promote interest in motoring and motor sport
f. establish, promote or assist in the establishing or promoting, and to subscribe to or become a member of any other associations or clubs whose benefits are similar or in part similar to the objects of the Register, or the establishment or promotion of which may be beneficial to the Register, provided that no subscription may be paid to any other such association or club except bona fide in furtherance of the objects of the Register
g. do all such lawful things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objects or any of them.
The income and property of the Register are used solely for the promotion of the objects of the Register as set out above.
Any person who is the owner of or has an interest in the Triumph 2000/2500/2·5 range of cars in any of their forms and variations is eligible for membership. Every application for membership must be made in writing (which includes applications via the website) and be accompanied by a payment to cover the joining fee and the first annual subscription. Membership begins on the first day of the month in which the application is accepted.
The Register also accepts family members, who must be the relatives or partners of members resident at the same address. Family members do not receive their own copies of the Register magazine or other Register publications.
No member is entitled to any of the privileges of membership if any fee or subscription is unpaid. Any member who has not paid their annual subscription within two months of the date it becomes due ceases to be a member.
The name, logo and address of the Register may only be used in connection with Register business.
The Register normally holds its Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) as part of its annual rally. The meeting receives a report about the activities of the Register during the preceding year and the accounts for the previous financial year are presented. The board members are also elected or re-elected at the AGM. You have to be a current member of the Register if you wish to attend the AGM. Each member has one vote.
The board of the Register consists of at least five directors but not more than fifteen. They elect a Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer from amongst their number. The Chairman may appoint other officers with the approval of the other directors. The directors may subsequently co-opt members to the board if necessary. Co-opted directors only serve until the following AGM. The directors of the Register do not get paid.
If the Register is wound up, whether voluntarily or otherwise, the board or the liquidators shall, after meeting all liabilities, distribute the remaining assets to another association committed to Triumph cars or to a registered charity.
