GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATIONS (GDPR)
Under the terms of the UK General Data Protection Act, which came into force on 25th May 2018, we have to provide members with information regarding how we use and manage their personal data. Under the act the only personal data that we collect and record are name, membership number, postal address, email address and telephone contact details.
The Data Controller for the purposes of the Act is the Triumph 2000 Register Ltd; its address is the Registered Office. Contact is via the Company Secretary, who can be contacted at the Registered Office; details can be found here.
The Data Protection Officer is the Membership Secretary, whose contact details can be found here.
The above officers can be contacted by email via the Who’s Who page.
The following privacy statement applies to you if you are a member of the club.
The purpose of collecting your data is to manage the affairs of the club. The Legal Basis for collecting your data is our Legitimate Interest. The Legitimate Interest pursued by the Controller is management of the club. The recipients of your personal data are the club’s officers. Only where you have indicated agreement will restricted data (excluding your full postal address) be made available on the club directory, which is available to club members only. For members both inside and outside the UK, your personal data may be made available to the Local Group Organiser for your area if there is one. All such data is protected by password from an encrypted database in the UK. Your data will be securely kept in the UK encrypted database for the period of your membership and for a short period thereafter until the membership is deemed to have lapsed permanently. By applying to become a member or supporter or renewing your subscription you will automatically agree to receive marketing offers, in the form of our bi-monthly magazine SIXappeal, via hard copy. Your details will not be passed to any third parties other than a printing and distribution company in order to provide you with this service. An abstract of car details and your name may be kept in the Restricted Archive indefinitely for purposes of future vehicle authentication. You have the right to request access to your personal data and ask for rectification of any errors. You have the right to erasure of your personal data at any time. Full erasure would mean loss of membership as contact details would be lost. Withdrawal of permission to share data in the membership database may, however, be made at any time. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Supervisory Authority. The data that you give to the club is required in order to become a member and is necessary for the contract of membership between you and the club.
