Triumphs on Tour 2020 – The Causeway Coast
The Causeway Coast tour with Scenic Car Tours, September 2020
One of the few car events to take place during 2020. Five big Triumphs (and a Vitesse) do the Northern Ireland Causeway Coastal tour over five days. Along with the beautiful coastline sites included the Giant’s Causway, the Titanic Museum, the Torr Scenic Route and a myriad of coastal villages and ports including Ballycastle, Portrush and Port Stewart. A full report was published in the December 2020 SIXappeal magazine.
Triumphs on Tour 2009 – Normandy
On Thursday April 9th we took the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo and checked in at the Ibis Hotel at Port en Bessin. For Good Friday’s day out we explored the city wall in St Malo and then drove in convoy to Mont St Michel (it poured with rain all morning!) and after lunch returned to our hotel for evening meals. Saturday saw us drive to Bayeux to visit the WWII cemeteries, the cathedral and the Bayeux Tapestry. On Easter Sunday we drove to Omaha Beach to visit the US cemetery and Museum, then Arromanches to see the Mulberry Harbour remains. On Monday we headed off to catch the night ferry home from Caen (Ouistreham) via Pegasus Bridge for coffee at the famous cafe there, and Honfleur.
A thourougly enjoyable trip!
